Fees for Funds

No direct charge for our services

Except in rare cases, neither you nor your client will ever pay anything to the Hampton Roads Community Foundation for our services. Not for meetings, documents, financial transfers or other services that your client will receive indefinitely.

Instead, we assess modest annual administrative and investment fees only to the charitable fund your client establishes. We do that only after he or she has received the full charitable deduction permitted under law. It's like giving a gift to any nonprofit; in this case, however, your client is making a gift that will keep on giving.

We regularly administer each fund according to the guidelines the fundholder originally chose. When appropriate, we will issue requests for proposals, review grant or scholarship requests, review donor-advised grant recommendations, audit all funds, manage all investments, file necessary paperwork, report to the fundholder, send checks to grantees or colleges for scholarship recipients and take care of all IRS filings.
