Coppage and Jordan Funds Support Favorite Charities
Sam, who spent most of his life and career in Norfolk, left a bequest to the Hampton Roads Community Foundation that created four designated funds in his name and the names of his parents and aunt. He named four organizations special to his family to receive annual grants – two Hampton Roads churches where his family worshiped, Tidewater Community College where he served on the board and Hampton University, his aunt's alma mater.
Dr. Samuel Coppage expected to live forever since his parents, grandmother and aunt lived to ages 90, 101, 104 and 106. But a short illness in 2014 ended the life of this beloved Old Dominion University information technology professor at age 65. Sam was known for his brilliance, friendly personality, loving care of his family, fascination with Brazil and his devotion to his students. He taught at ODU for 30 years.

Thanks to his generosity. Samuel Coppage will forever be helping Hampton Roads organizations that mattered to him and his family.
