The Elizabeth River Project

With more than $300,000 from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, the Project transformed a neglected 40 acres in a Portsmouth industrial area into the beautiful urban oasis that is now Paradise Creek Nature Park.

The Elizabeth River Project opened Paradise Creek Nature Park in December 2012 in Portsmouth, Virginia. It is in one of the most industrial areas in Hampton Roads. With help from more than $300,000 in grants from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation the Elizabeth River Project transformed what used to be a neglected 40 acres into the beautiful urban oasis it is today.
