Commit to Racial Equity: A Message on the Derek Chauvin Verdict

The world watched as George Floyd, a Black man, died last year after being pinned down for more than nine minutes. The world also watched the trial unfold against Derek Chauvin, the White former police officer charged with Floyd’s murder. As we have just watched the guilty verdict rendered by the jury, let us not forget what we saw, what we heard, and what we felt. Let us now reaffirm our commitment to racial equity, to each other, and to a thriving community for all.
