Why Was 2018 Our Best Year Ever?

In multiple ways, 2018 was a milestone year for the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. In 2018:

• $35 million+ in charitable gifts was donated -- the highest amount entrusted to us in a single year and more than double our 2017 donations.
• 625 generous donors from all walks of life made charitable gifts to make life better in Hampton Roads.
• $17.5 million in grants and scholarships was distributed -- $2 million more than in 2017.
• 150+ nonprofits put our grants into action to help create a thriving community with opportunity for all.
• 413 students enrolled in college for 2018-19 with help from $1.4 million in scholarships -- the largest number of students and highest scholarship amount awarded in our 69-year history.
